HCKids and parents are in for a treat at the HC Parking Lot as you don costumes, play games and activities, graze on food and treats, and meet new friends. Bring a friend, and bring a monetary donation to support Kazakhstan orphans for our Kids Helping Kids mission initiative! We need trunks and volunteers for this night of fun, too! Register your trunk by October 26th.
Join us at Holy Cross for our family-friendly Fall Fest 2021 on October 10th starting at 11:00AM! We will have children's games, live and silent auctions, food, prize drawings, baked goods and fellowship after our morning worship services. Proceeds from the event support missions of Holy Cross and the BCS area.
Wednesday Women in the Word has begun their fall semester in September at 9:30 a.m. in Room 110 at Holy Cross with a Bible study focusing on trusting God.Life this side of heaven provides a head-spinning range of options, and our Creator grants us the freedom to choose, but once we choose, the consequences are not under our control. Our Heavenly Father does not abandon us but gives us the gift of His Word to show us how to live. Be Thou My Guide encourages us to draw close to the Lord with trusting hearts and minds and not to rely on ourselves or choose the ways of the world. We will use this study to be encouraged, to develop diligence to live as a child of God, and to practice intentional Christian living. Join us!
LIFT is an initiative by the Board of Incorporation to bring the Holy Cross congregation together for fellowship in the community. Some members are attending the Sunday Concert Series at Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville in October. Visit https://www.bernhardtwinery.com/lawn-concerts/ to buy tickets. Contact the Church Office at (979) 764-3992 to let us know if you are going or if you have any questions.
This summer, kids of HC Families will hop on board the "Rocky Railway" for VBS during the week of June 21st-25th with a swim party on June 26th! Registration has closed, but we are still looking for volunteers to help with the event. If you are a member or friend of Holy Cross and the Preschool, contact the office to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
As Easter has come and gone, and we now begin the Easter season leading to other significant festivals such as Pentecost Sunday, Trinity Sunday and the longer season of Pentecost (think lots of green for several months). The choir season too is changing.
We'll take time off from April 21 - end of May. We will offer a Summer choir that will meet and work on different, simpler arrangements, perhaps learning some new praise songs with the Praise team and keeping our voices nimble.
This is also a season of change as we begin to say so long to Kimberlyn Krause as she moves on to her new life adventures and say hello to whoever God brings here to celebrate with us.
We know this is going to be a great season of rest but also worship experiences. If you would like to volunteer to work on solo, duet or trio music during the next month, please let the Music Minister know right away.
While we typically discourage writing on walls, Holy Cross Kids and Youth can write on the beams and slab in April! We're excited for them to make their mark and cover the building with scripture before the walls go up. We will capture this as a memory and use video footage for an upcoming commercial.
Parents are welcome, too! Contact the office at email@example.com with any questions.
We're coming up quickly on Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter Sunday - and there's still time to join the Foundation Singers to participate in this particular season of music ministry.
REHEARSALS DURING LENT
6:00pm - 6:45pm
Sometimes we'll add after service rehearsal for 30 minutes.
Traditionally, we've always done full year or semester choir. This year has taught me one thing, flexible seasonal participation is much better both on the budget, on my sanity and yours.
Singers, don't feel like you have to commit long-term to choir if you only want to jump in for a particular season. See the season options below!
Seasonal Choir Options:
Fall (starts in Mid August)
Christmas (starts in November)
Lent/Easter (starts in January)
Spring (starts around Mid March)
Summer Choir (starts in 2nd Wed of June).
Each season will have about 3-4 anthems, end with an appropriate celebration, and will see people transfer in and out.
I'd love for some of you to jump in right now for Lent/Easter Choir and give it a shot. The songs are going to be fun and engaging, and we take necessary safety precautions in all rehearsals.
Call the church office at (979) 764-3992 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to get a packet of music and choir folder. We'll see you IN THE LOFT!
